THE LANGUAGE MAGICIAN at Work
THE LANGUAGE MAGICIAN at Work -
Evaluating Foreign Language Competence at Primary Level
26 and 27 January 2017
at Leipzig University
--> THE REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.
THE LANGUAGE MAGICIAN is a European Project initiated by the Goethe-Institute London and co-funded by the European Union within the Erasmus Plus Frame. Altogether ten partners from the UK, Italy, Spain and Germany participate in this project which deals with standardisation and assessment in foreign language learning at primary level across Europe.
The main aim of the project is to develop a computer game that can be used as an assessment tool in schools called “THE LANGUAGE MAGICIAN”. The game will be fun for the children, build on their language and computer skills and provide feedback for students and teachers on the language competence of the learners using non-threatening testing methods.
At the conference “THE LANGUAGE MAGICIAN at Work“ the participating partners will introduce the project and the computer game for the first time to the public and will present an analysis of the first results of the computer game which have been gained through pre-testing in Italy, Spain, Germany and the UK. The participants will have the opportunity to learn more about international standards, discuss the concept of using a digital assessment tool at primary level and try out the new computer game.
The conference language will be English. For details on the schedule, programme, registration or venue of the conference please click on the respective aspect or select the appropriate subitem from the menu on the upper left hand side of this page.
